AFP is the only news agency nominated in this category, where its story competes with reports from CNN, BBC World News, ITV News and Al Jazeera English. The winners will be announced on November 12 and 15, 2021. The Association for International Broadcasting established the awards in 1993 with the aim of "showcasing the best in television, radio, audio and digital journalism and production".
